Очень и очень жаль. Прекрасный актёр, первый и лучший Джо в СБ.

Как жалко! Что в сериале судьба жестокая, что в жизни, получается, не очень счастливая- уйти всего в 56 лет. Еще жить бы и жить.
У меня его взгляд перед глазами.

It is A Martinez (ex-Cruz Castillo) who announced the sad news on his Facebook account : Dane Witherspoon, the first interpreter of Joe Perkins, died this weekend.
It is Santa Barbara which made known to the public Dane Witherspoon, by making of him the first hero of the show in July, 1984. The lassitude of the actor for his role and for the show and, as it is said, his lack of investment, will lead a few months after his arrival to his replacement by actor Mark Arnold. It will not prevent Dane from rebounding in another soap-opera, Capitol, from the next year in the role of Tyler McCandless.
Santa Barbara will however have allowed him to meet Robin Wright, his partner in the role of Kelly Capwell, whom he will marry in 1986 before divorcing two years later. He marries a few years after actress Tracy K. Shaffer, with whom he will have two sons.
Again divorced in 2011, Dane Witherspoon meanwhile definitively gave up his acting career to move into the ice cream business. He managed the ice cream company Licks, situated in Denver, Colorado, his home town.

Dane Witherspoon is born December 27, 1957 in Denton, Texas.
After getting his acting degree from ACT, Dane went to Hollywood in 1980 where he landed small roles in THE WALTONS and EIGHT IS ENOUGH. In 1984, he made his soap opera debut as the original Joe Perkins on SANTA BARBARA. Three months later, Dane was replaced by Mark Arnold because the SB producers decided he wasn’t right for the role. Witherspoon met his ex-wife, actress Robin Wright, when they auditioned for their SANTA BARBARA roles. They were wed from 1986 to 1988.
This decision left fans bewildered, but Dane soon returned to daytime as Tyler McCandless on CAPITOL. He played this part from 1985 to 1986. Though he continued to work as an actor for a few more years (his last work as an actor was in the 1997 TV movie ASTEROID), Dane eventually retired from the profession and started making gourmet ice cream LIKSin Denver, Colorado.

Today Dane is 56 years old and has two sons with his second ex-wife, Tracy Shaffer.

Я просто в шоке. Пусть земля будет ему пухом. Такой молодой - ещё жить и жить... Я продолжу сегодня скриноисторию с участием Джо Перкинса. Посвящаю её светлой памяти замечательного актёра. Он будет жить в нашей памяти.
