Ashley: Hi, Michael. What are you doing here?
Michael: Is Gloria home?
Ashley: No, she's not.
Michael: I'm sorry. I didn't realize you had company.
Ashley: That's okay. Tom was just leaving.
Tom: Uh, actually, I'm not in any hurry to go.
Ashley: Okay, well, do you want to come in, Michael?
Ashley: So believe it or not, Tom and I were just talking about you. Isn't that weird?
Michael: Were you?
Ashley: Yeah. I was talking about how we might have dinner with another couple, and here's the other half of that couple--Michael.
Tom: Oh. Nice to meet you.
Michael: Uh, actually, we've met before.
Майкл решает пока ничего не говорить Эшли, пикируется с Томом и уходит.

Ashley: So the two of you have met before?
Tom: Gee, not that I remember.
Michael: You're new in town.
Tom: That's right.
Michael: How very lucky for you to have met one of Genoa City's most prominent citizens.
Ashley: I met Tom when my father was in the hospital.
Michael: You've known each other that long? Have you met Ashley's father?
Tom: No, I haven't had the pleasure... yet.
Michael: Where is John tonight?
Ashley: He's working late, actually. Michael is Gloria's son.
Tom: Mmm. Is that right?
Ashley: Actually, I haven't introduced him to either one of them.
Tom: I hope to meet 'em both real soon.
Michael: I'm sure you do.
Ashley: Well, anyway, um, you'd be interested in this, Michael-- Tom's actually been helpful.
Michael: Oh? How so?
Ashley: Well, he's encouraged me to take a good look at my attitude-- you know, the one I had towards Gloria?
Tom: Live and let live, don't ya think?
Michael: "Live and let live." That's an excellent ideology. What did he do, cast a spell on you?
Ashley: Ha ha. No, he just, you know, told me I should let my father live his own life.
Michael: Oh. You're a real armchair philosopher.
Tom: No, it's just a little down-home common sense.
Ashley: Yeah, and sometimes another perspective can be helpful. If Gloria makes my father happy, so be it.
Michael: Mm.
Tom: You know, I think the best thing kids can do for their parents is not interfere in their choices, you know?
Michael: I know. Sounds like you speak from experience.
Tom: No, sir. No, I'm just what you said-- armchair philosopher.
Ashley: Um, I don't really know exactly when Gloria's gonna be coming in. Did you want a drink or something?
Michael: No, no. Just let her know that I dropped by.
Ashley: Okay, sure thing.
Michael: We'll walk out together.
Tom: Oh, I think I'll stick around a little longer.
Michael: (Chuckles)
Ashley: So I guess I'll call Lauren, and, um... we'll have a dinner.
Michael: Looking forward to it.
Ashley: Me too. Bye-bye.
Michael: Bye.
Ashley: Okay. Was that just me, or was there some strange macho vibe going on between the two of you?
